El Centro celebrated our 40th anniversary this year and has been a vital part of the Kansas City, Kansas community since its beginning. We work diligently to meet our mission “to strengthen families and improve the lives of Latinos and others through educational, social, and economic opportunities,” through programs and services that walk beside people on their journey to a more stable life and a stronger community. Programs such as our Academy for Children, a pre-K dual-language educational model for children from families placed at-risk, our Economic Empowerment Program, not only providing Emergency Assistance for those who need it, but also training and education on how to better their economic condition, our Promotoras de Salud who are volunteers who provide culturally-accessible information to the community about healthy lifestyles and healthy eating, our Health Navigation working to get people the healthcare they need and deserve, and, our thread that runs through all of our programs, advocacy, educating people about the issues that matter most to them and giving them their voice. El Centro cannot offer these programs and services without the generosity of the people of Kansas City. Kansas City is one of the most generous cities in the nation, something of which we can be most proud. Please show your generosity during this Giving Tuesday by donating to those organizations closest to your heart. It is our hope El Centro will be one of those organizations. To donate, please use this link: https://razmobile.com/25294. The dollars you invest will be put to work in creating opportunities for people and strengthening the connectedness in the community. On behalf of the community members we serve, thank you!
