DACA is the executive action put in place by President Obama in 2012. DACA grants temporary protection from deportation for individuals that arrived in the US prior to age 16. Individuals born after June 15, 1981 who have lived in the US since June 15, 2007 may be eligible to receive a work permit and social security number through DACA.

DAPA is the executive action proposed by President Obama in 2014, currently under discussion in the Supreme Court. DAPA would grant temporary protection from deportation, a work permit, and social security number for individuals with American Citizen or LPR children that arrived before January 2010.
