Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas- Call to Share
For over 35 years the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas has graciously supported and partnered with El Centro. We are thankful for the generosity of all who give to the Archbishop’s Call to Share ministry and extend a heartfelt thank you on behalf of the families we serve! Together we share a goal of promoting peace and solidarity within our community and believe in the dignity of the human person, the promotion of the common good, the link of love and justice, and the inalienable social, political, and economic rights of all people.
The safety net of services provided by El Centro weaves a strong fabric of support for the community. However, without support from The Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas and other caring community members, the safety net would have no structure and people would forever be in freefall. The people you assist are your neighbors, friends, co-workers, the people you see everyday – you never know when and where need will come calling.
Through your support:
- Our Academy for Children started 135 children on the road to educational success
- 385 people were assisted with health needs through our Health Navigation program
- Financial Literacy Classes provided 182 people with financial literacy advice, referrals, and emergency assistance
- 1,091 people in both Wyandotte County and Johnson County received free tax filing help through the VITA program
- The Promotores de Salud connected with 4,787 people disseminating health prevention materials related to obesity, smoking cessation, healthy diet and exercise to the community
- More than 400 women and children victims of domestic violence obtained support, counseling, and help through our ¡Si, Se Puede! program
